The Electronic System for
Medical Services in Schools (ESMS)
The ESMS is a tool developed to facilitate and streamline children’s health screenings. Its important objective is to provide a standardised way of communicating with parents / guardians and informing them about the results of comprehensive check-ups revealing the health status of their children. The ESMS collects student data, analyses the parameters entered by the school nurse, and provides a clear result against a red or green background, representing the norm or the need for further consultation, respectively.
The ESMS has been successfully applied to screen 24,000 schoolchildren from four cities in Poland: Gdynia, Warsaw, Lublin and Wrocław. The programme is currently also being implemented in Romania.
